Every man or woman engaged in a conflict is a witness. Interested public have a right to know and journalists have to record the testimonials, whatever the media they use, like any photos, videos, text or audios which carry a part of memories. That's open data!

mciiw.info : Security is a shared business

I just want to make a point : whatever the technology used, security can NOT be reached at 100 per 100. Never. Our own infrastural process to ensure a beginning security will be detailed in another post. Just know the BASICS right now :

We swear to NEVER give or sell your informations (like ip) to anyone. However, use a very good practice : upload ONLY from cyber coffee and public internet access.

mciiw.info : How it works

Every media uploaded is automatically duplicated into the good directory (video, audio, text...)*. So that, any internaut, who has connected the plateform, could download it and watch. It supposes either to copy the file on hard-disk or to watch it online directly in a compatible browser (only available for few medias).

On the plateform we made for*, anyone can send almost anything, in the language he loves. Next, it is a part of the job for the journalist to verify if the files he has downloaded is safe. An antivirus could be useful for that... You can find one at secuser.com/antivirus, just install the stuff it's asking for. For the journalist again, it is also another part of the job to understand the language used in the videos, audios and texts...

mciiw.info : A place to see, a place to share

Hi all! I'm a journalist and I was looking for the last news concerning Syria, Egypt, Congo Zaïre and also Russia. I found some stuffs but hardly. Indeed, it is not easy to look at foreigner sites, to find out the best video or something. And I was begin to think that we, journalists, would need an only one place to consult all this massive documentation. It is why, a team and me have installed a new web plateforme called mciiw.info. It is an Alpha version. Please try it but uploading documents. Be Careful : upload only documents which can not be use to identify you.
